Dr. Prewitt’s Biography & Credentials:
Dr. Maryann Prewitt holds Master’s Certification in the da Vinci Surgery System—the minimally invasive technology revolutionizing the future of surgical practices. Dr. Prewitt has been practicing Gynecology in North Texas for almost twenty years. She is in private practice at Healthcare for Women in Plano, Texas, www.drprewittmd.com.
A Board Certified Fellow, America College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Prewitt is among the first to be credentialed by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), she is an expert in minimally invasive gynecological procedures, FDA-approved Bioidentical Hormones and Hormone Replacement Therapy as well as Anti-Aging nutrition and fitness.
A graduate of The University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Dr. Prewitt has practiced Gynecology in the North Dallas/Plano area since 1996 following a prestigious fellowship at Barnes Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After earning her B.S. degree in Chemistry, graduating cum laude from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, she served both her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University Medical Center, Barnes Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri. During her tenure at St. Louis University, Dr. Prewitt was awarded “Teaching Resident of the Year” for three consecutive years.
Dr. Prewitt consistently brings her passion for education to her medical practice. The most successful patients are the most-informed–Dr. Prewitt advocates for her patients with ongoing education throughout each stage of the surgical process including follow-up care for families and loved ones.
Dr. Prewitt was awarded the coveted “Felix Rutledge Fellowship” in Gynecological Oncology at The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston heading the Laparoscopic, Hysteroscopy Surgery Division and High Risk Obstetrics.
In addition to the professional organizations mentioned above, the highly credentialed Dr. Prewitt is currently affiliated with the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society of Clinical Colposcopy, and the Urogynecologic Society.
